Where to get involved in womens fitness competitions? I am a 25 year old female and live in Indiana. Does anyone know of any type of fitness competitions other then marathons and extreme body building that i could get involved in? I work out about 6 times a week and just wanted to try something new and challenging. Thanks for your help!

Womens fitness competitions? If you have heard of the sport fitness, can you give me any information on the sport for children 13-18 years of age? I know that they have to go through a 1 1/2 minute routine, and they have requirements needed but I dont know what kinds! Please help! -Gymnast101
What the hell does "get toned" mean in fitness terms? When you exercise for aesthetic reasons you are either A)Trying to loose fat, or B)trying to increase muscle mass, yes? So why is it that when my girlfriend joined the gym (a diffrent gym to mine, I go to a deicent gym) she was told that she should use the machines to "tone" her body. This doesn't actually mean anything in my mind.....is it just a term made up by the womens fitness industry?

Womens fitness clothing poll? am designing a range of womens activewear and would appreciate your input. There a a few questions that are easily answered and a few where I would like a sentence answer. thanks! 1. Womens Fitness/weight loss question? I would like to know what might be a good supplement for women to take to help lose weight along with exercise, also I would like to know a few exercises that I should do? I plan to workout 3 days a week at a gym and then do some running in between. I am 5"4 and currently I weight 155 and I would like to weigh 125 (Lose 30lbs) any advice is appreciated. Oh I almost forgot is there any need in me taking a protein shake and if so should I do it before my workout or after? Thanks again

What is the best way to get a new business financed ? My wife and I are wanting to open a womens fitness center in our small town. We live in a small town of about 5,000 people. We are centrally located between two of the largest cities in texas. The only gym in town is located in the back room of a dry cleaners and is usually occupied by 16-18 boys from the high school. We have a historic building located in the downtown district which is approx. 7500sq.ft, with a asking price of $ 150,000. We would like to borrow $ 250,000. to buy the building, equipment and to remodel for our purposes. Traditional financing seems out of the question because this will be a new business. What can we do ? Has anyone had any experience with SBA loans for women owned business ? Are there any investor's who would be interested in a loan of this size using the building and equipment as collateral ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !!!!!!

questions about health and fitness? hi there. if i cut out all bread, pasta and rice, do you think i will lose weight? i am 154 pounds and 5'9'' am i considered overweight? i know there is people out there worse off than me so i cant really complain, im not too concerned about losing too much weight i just want to tone up. a bmi calculator says my bmi is 22.7 which is in the healthy weight range but i just feel gross and want to lose a little bit of weight. has anyone tried tony ferguson (its a diet shake) do you think they would work if i only drank them for dinner and ate healthy for breakfast and lunch? i have trouble finding time to excercise but am starting a new job at the beginning of march that is 1 street away from a womens fitness centre. is it ok to eat just fruit and vegies and nothing else? how much meat do i need to eat a week to keep my iron levels up. i dont know much about this stuff obviously.
Where can i find some womens track clothing? Im doing track for my future high school but none of my track clothing fits me from last year. Where can i find good quality fitness and track clothing for less? The bottoms need to be in petite sizes please! I'm 14 but i take a xs-s in most clothes. Birth Control Pills And Building Muscle? I am currently on the Pill, and I read an article in a womens fitness magazine the other day and it said that it was harder for women taking the Pill to gain muscle then for women who were not on it. Any thoughts on this?

What is better exercise: The Gym or Curves? I have recently joined curves the womens 30 min fitness club but im now thinking is 30 mins of exercise enough to lose weight and tone up. Just wondering would joining a gym be better than joining Curves?

America only: So just how long and baggy are mens swimpants going to get, while womens suits nearly disappear? I am just curious concerning America's bizarre resentment of any man wearing a sensible swimsuit, while women of all ages, shapes and stages of physical fitness are permitted to wear a wide variety of form fitting swimwear including going roughly 3 square inches or so of complete nudity. Meanwhile, the "fashionable" and only acceptable swimsuit for a man is knee length, or if he is really risque mid-thigh. Baggies are not very comfortable to swim in, less so lounging around in after a swim since they take forever and 3 days to dry. Like to to see all the lame points given.

Riding stationary bike reduces bone density?? I was reading in the magazine "womens fitness" that a certain study shows that riding a stationary bike reduces bone density so it isnt recommended. WOW, that is very dishearting. All this time I have lost 30 lbs from riding it, now I can't even get on it anymore without thinking I am causing my bone mass to reduce and hurting myself.. Has anyone else heard of this? I was thinking about looking further into it, but Im not so sure. I just don't see how its possible for it to reduce your bone density.

Fitness coach cover letter/interview? I applied for an all womens gym, they have my resume.Should I tell them in the interview that I have lost 50 lbs myself and feel that I am relatable/easy to approch? rather than someone that hasn't gone through it themselves?what else is good to write in a cover letter and say on that type of interview? I want to be well prepared.
Getting back into working out after a very long hiatus....need help devising a plan!? My boyfriend and I used to be very fit (he's a former Marine, I did sports all through high school), but now we are both overweight (me 5'4" 200 lbs, him 5'10" 240 lbs). It's been years since we've really worked out. We have been slowly changing our eating habits, but now it's time to work out! We are getting memberships to the local gym, and I'd like help planning a routine for us that involves cardio and weights. We have no restrictions regarding exercises or equipment. I realize that men and womens fitness needs are different, but we'd like something that we could do together (same time on the treadmill for example) for now until we are both at a better level of fitness. Our plan is 4 days at the gym one week, 3 the next. If anybody has ideas for a good plan, or websites that have ones already drawn out I would really appreciate it :) Thanks!

Calorie Intake and Exercise? I'm a 17year old female, and I am 5'6 weighting 82.5kilos. I went to the doctor and he advised i lost weight by lowering my daily intake of calories and exercising. So I have been counting calories for three weeks now. My daily average is 850 calories, with 40mins of running (sometimes an extra 30mins in the morning). I do understand that i need to get my weight down, but I don't want to be unhealthy. I also taking womens fitness and muliti-vitimins. I use to weight (three weeks ago) 88.5kilos, and it's made a difference, but do you think I will continue to lose weight on this diet plan?
I recently got a membership to a womens gym and just learned they are closed between 1 & 3. Should I be mad? "Contours" is a new fitness center to my city. I was one of the 1st people to sign up. It is set up for circuit training, but that is not my thing and I let the manager, "Kayla", know that before I signed up. I already have my tried and true routine. When I went to my 1st workout there, I was the only member there. The"Kayla" kept walking into the workout area and asking me questions like "Are you doing okay?" "Aren't those weights heavy? You're so tiny." I just wnated her to leave me alone and let me do my thing.
Any bathing suit ideas? I am a Muslim girl. Recently, I was invited to a friend's all-girl birthday party, where we will be going on a water slide and possibly a hot tub. I am not allowed to wear a bikini or one piece swimming suit. Do you think a black under armour shirt and basketball shorts that reach my knee caps would be appropriate? Im trying not to become anorexic but...? I have bad self esteem issues. People tell me im not fat, but im so worried about becoming fat. I dont starve myself, but between small meals (i have about 3 per day, all around 400 calories, trying to stay to 1200 or less per day) when i feel really hungry, i actually feel good about myself. I keep my daily saturated fat intake under 2 grams. Im trying to eat fewer simple carbs and sugars. But i keep seeing myself as fat. I'm 5'1 and 85 lbs and i think im fat, even though everyone tells me im not. But i dont believe them. Basically, what im trying to do is lose up to ten pounds, probably more around 5. But im trying to do so in a way where i dont starve myself. I exercise for about 35-40 min a day on weekdays (im in a womens fitness class at my high school and we do stuff like pliometrics, cardio, weights and yoga). I dont know how many calories i burn in that, but i only eat 1200 a day. Im wondering how long its gonna take for me to lose the 5 lbs and if this is a safe way to do it. Oh yeah, and by the way, ive never had my period (always been too small to start it) and i do take a multivitamin cuz my parents insist on it
