questions about health and fitness?

hi there. if i cut out all bread, pasta and rice, do you think i will lose weight? i am 154 pounds and 5'9'' am i considered overweight? i know there is people out there worse off than me so i cant really complain, im not too concerned about losing too much weight i just want to tone up. a bmi calculator says my bmi is 22.7 which is in the healthy weight range but i just feel gross and want to lose a little bit of weight. has anyone tried tony ferguson (its a diet shake) do you think they would work if i only drank them for dinner and ate healthy for breakfast and lunch? i have trouble finding time to excercise but am starting a new job at the beginning of march that is 1 street away from a womens fitness centre. is it ok to eat just fruit and vegies and nothing else? how much meat do i need to eat a week to keep my iron levels up. i dont know much about this stuff obviously.

  1. i think you ought to drop out that meat try eating grren salads for iron needs...............otherwise you can jump rope and burn
  2. Cutting out all your carbs isnt a good thing, these give you a slow realsing energy that keeps you going all day. The best thing for you to do is cut down what you eat by a 3rd! stock up on more veg and fruit. Drink water to keep you hydrated. Do a gentle work out at the gym, or go for a half hour walk each day. Little things like parking your car on the other side of the carpark in the shopping center, taking the stairs. Not eating Carbs after 6!!! Eat veg anf fruit! but dont cut carbs out! eat red meat!! thats always a plus!!! Scatty
  3. while I think that most people can stand to eat less carbs. I would not cut them out entirely. Try eating healthier carbs like: brown rices, Quinoa, Amaranth, Oats, etc. Switch white potatoes for sweet potatoes. You do not need meat to maintain your iron levels. Just eat more leafy greens, beans, nuts and seeds. Drink lots of water. Try green tea and pu'erh teas. Both are good for healthy, natural weightloss, raise the metabolism and are just all around healthy for you. Cut out the sugar in your diet. It is very, very, very bad! And, you have to excercise. Check out www.yogatoday.com. They have free yoga classes on-line everyday. They are fantastic and it will make you feel great! I would not worry about loosing weight with your weight and height. think more about getting health and creating healthy habits for yourself and your body will follow. Good luck! Really! Do the yoga!!!
  4. First of all you are certainly not overweight. There is no need to cut out all of your carbs, but just try and reduce your portion sizes. The tony ferguson diet is cetainly an option that can work however you need to be careful using it as a meal substitute. Fruit and veggies are extremely important however without carbs, protein and fats you would get very tired and your body would not function optimally. With a balanced diet you will have more energy and will have no problems losing weight. The key to losing weight is to just burn more calories than you consume.
