- I think you are mixing up two difference concepts. If you own a business where you are hiring employees and there is a risk of injury you need to be covered somehow for workman's compensation. I'm not sure how that works in the US however you would do well to contact the Texas State Franchise Office and get information on how this works in your local area. The other aspect is personal and liability insurance for the people going to your gym. That is not related to workman's compensation but is obtained through any of the insurance companies in your area that deal with corporate liability insurance. You would do well to discuss your liability obligations with an insurance agency to ensure that you are carrying adequate insurance for the types of risks that you may be subject to. For example, if an employee misrepresents how a peice of equipment works and someone gets hurt as a result - how are you going to protect yourself? Workman's compensation doesn't cover these scenarios.
- Yes for any empolyees you employ
- Texas does not require workman's comp. It is highly recommended that you have it if you have employees.
